About Andrew Wells

Andrew's work is satirical and politically charged with the goal of creating dialogue about contemporary issues. The drawings and coloring books depict a fictional society of “mansters” who struggle with issues of class, race, global warming, sexism, and violence. His hope is to challenge the practices of modern culture by depicting the negative impacts that these practices have on the characters on the page. Sarcasm and satire help to lighten the harsh realities I depict and may help viewers see the similarities between our own society and the fictional one that I create.

Wells received his BFA from UNC Greensboro and his MFA from East Carolina University. He has shown work nationally and internationally ranging from California, up and down the East coast and the United Arab Emirates.
